Counterfoil ("the game") is a free browser-based strategy card game operated by Parker Emmerson ("we", "us"). By using the game you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game.
The game does not require registration, an email address, or a password. Your player identity is a cryptographic key pair generated in your own browser and stored on your own device. We cannot recover it. If you lose your device and have not exported a backup code, your progress and items cannot be restored by us or by anyone. Export a backup code and keep it safe.
Marks are an in-game currency. Cards and cosmetic finishes are in-game items. Marks and items:
Cosmetic finishes change a card’s appearance and never its effect in play.
Marks may be purchased with real money. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card details. Marks are delivered to your player identity immediately on successful payment. Prices are shown before purchase. See our Refund Policy.
You agree not to attempt to forge, duplicate, or manipulate in-game items or currency, disrupt the service or other players, or access the service by automated means for advantage. We may suspend access for conduct that damages the game or its players.
The game is provided as-is, without warranty. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. We will give reasonable notice before discontinuing paid features, and will not retroactively reduce the fixed published supply of marks or card print runs.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the game is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted by the date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
